Overview
Espresso Metrix is designed to work without creating a traditional user account. We do not run our own backend servers and we do not collect personal data for advertising or profiling purposes. Where data is used, it is either stored locally on your device, or synced securely via Apple iCloud / CloudKit, which is managed entirely by Apple.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not: collect names, addresses, or contact details, collect location data, track users across apps or websites, sell or share personal data with third parties, or store payment or credit card information.
Data You Create and Store
The App allows you to create and store content related to coffee brewing, including: coffee recipes, dial-in logs, shot feedback and analysis data, photos you choose to add, and app preferences and settings. This data is stored locally on your device, and optionally synced across your devices using Apple iCloud (CloudKit) if iCloud is enabled on your device. We do not have access to this data.
iCloud & Apple Services
Espresso Metrix uses Apple iCloud / CloudKit for data synchronization and backup. Authentication and storage are handled by Apple. Data is associated with your Apple ID. Apple's privacy policy applies to all iCloud services. We do not operate or control Apple's servers.
Purchases & Subscriptions
Espresso Metrix offers optional subscriptions. Payments are processed by Apple App Store. Subscription status and entitlements are managed via RevenueCat. We never receive or store payment details such as credit card numbers. Apple may associate purchases with your Apple ID.
Analytics
We use Apple App Analytics to understand general usage patterns (such as app launches or feature usage). Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs. No tracking across other apps or websites occurs.
Permissions
The App may request access to: Camera – to take photos you choose to attach; Photo Library – to select existing images. Access is optional and only used for features you explicitly choose to use.
Support & Diagnostics
When you choose to contact support (for example, by sending a bug report email), the App may prefill your email draft with technical diagnostic information such as: device model (e.g., iPhone 15 Pro), iOS version, and app version and build number. This information is included only to help troubleshoot issues. The email is sent through your own email provider, and you can review and edit the message before sending. We do not automatically collect or transmit this information in the background.
Data Retention & Deletion
All user-created data remains on your device and/or in your iCloud account. Deleting the App removes local data. Disabling iCloud stops cloud synchronization. You can delete your data at any time from within the App. We cannot recover deleted data.
Children's Privacy
Espresso Metrix is not specifically targeted at children, but it does not contain content restricted by age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU, you have the right to: access your data, delete your data, restrict or stop processing, and data portability. Since all personal data is stored locally or in iCloud, these rights can be exercised directly by managing your device or Apple ID settings.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date.
